SELMER BALANCED ACTION BARITONE SAXOPHONE *CIRCA 1936*

Up for auction is the Holy Grail of Baritone Saxophones. This is an Ultra Rare Selmer "Balanced Action" Baritone Saxophone. Serial Number #25366 (circa 1936). Back then if you notice the serial number was on the bell of the horn. It has good pads with metal resonators. Lacquer is original and the overall condition is very nice for being 73 years old. It has a beautiful sound a cross between Mulligan and Pepper Adams with a powerful lower register. The tonal quality is superb, this horn is definitely for a Jazz player and was meant to be played.

It comes with all these extras, a rubber 7* Couf mouthpiece with a Rovner ligature & cap, a 1960's box of Rico and a 60's box of Vandoren reeds. You also get a reed guard a black shoulder harness and a regular white sax strap, and a black hard case that fits to perfection.

The stand you see in the photos is not included, but is available for sale. It was custom made out in California and is the best baritone stand I have seen.Mulligan used a stand just like this.
