Concert Kayagum, Gayageum, Korean Zither Koto

This one is my personal kayagum.  I've used it for 5 years.  It is a performance elite model, the top of the line from the maker.  The original price I purchased was $2200 plus air shipping from Korea.  The sound quality is absolutely great.  It's voice is very deep, rich and resonant.  I want to specially note about the deep bass of this one.  It's probably the best bass I've heard on kayagums.     The making follow strict traditional way of making sanjo kayagum.  The whole wood piece is carved out from paulownia body that's been air-dried for at least 20 years.  The bottom board is made of a thick piece of walnut wood that's air-dried for over 10 years.  The tail is also made of the same premium quality walnut wood.  The side frame is made of sandalwood.  The frame has lots of bone inlay that shows the grade of the instrument.  The strings are made of professional quality silk. I've broken a couple of them before and tied them back.  Since there are still plenty of strings left, so I haven't replaced any of them.  I've replaced the bridges to the ones with golden flake inlay.

I really love this kayagum a lot.  It has given me great pleasure over the years.  However, I just upgraded to a $5000 elite kayagum that's air-dried for 30 years.  I can't afford to keep two expensive kayagums at home, so I have to sell this one.  I hope to find someone who'll love and enjoy this kayagum just me.
