Here is another gem I am going to let go to a new home.....although I am sure I'll regret it !!!
This is a very nice 1963 ES 335 in a very beautiful cherry finish in VERY nice original condition. The ONLY changes are the bridge to a newer Gibson with metal saddles ( better than original nylon !! ) and it presently has repro tuners installed. The original tuners work fine and are in very nice shape and are included in the case, as seen in the pix. All plastic and nickle hardware are original to this great guitar. It, of course, is a factory original nickle stop tailpiece.
The neck is to die for ! It is nice and chunky and has a very late 50s type profile. It is dead straight and plays like a dream. The frets are medium sized and have lots of life left. No need for anything to be done here. The pickups are very early pat. number black stickers and sound every bit as nice as PAFs...probably because the only difference between these and the coveted PAFs, are the stickers !! They both read in the mid 8s on the Ohm meter and are as warm and rich as you would expect them to be. The pots and caps are original and untouched.
The body is in very good cosmetic and structural shape with the usual small nicks and finish hazing as you would expect. There is a very small spot or two on the back of buckle rash and worming, but nothing that stands out. The orange label is in great shape and fully intact. It also has it's original black case in very good shape with all it's latches in fine working order.
This is a very nice guitar and a very sound investment piece that will only continue to increase in value as they grow more scarce. And the nicest thing is.... it is an EXCELLENT playing and sounding guitar live OR in the studio !!! This is truly are guitar that is a must for the player OR the collector....so DON'T MISS THIS ONE !!!
