Vintage Rogers Cleveland Holiday Endorser's Drum Set 20-12-14-Powertone
This incredible find was purchased from the son of 1960's Rogers Endorser Russ Irwin. Russ was a great Broadway
drummer, and played several shows including the opening run of Camelot. His picture can be seen on page 10 of the
1964 Rogers Drum Catalog.
These drums are in excellent overall condition with minor use wear. Russ purchased this kit new from Henry Adler's shop
in NYC in the mid 1960's, and they have been in his family ever since. Original Blue Sparkle wrap, no extra holes, shells are in round, and bearing edges are original and in great shape. All drums have their original Cleveland paper tags and
flat gray interior paint. The toms have their original heads, top and bottom, and the matching wood Powertone snare drum
has its original snare wires. Floor tom is the rare, deeper 16x14 (head is 14, depth is 16.) Bass drum is a 14x20 with the Headliner hardware configuration, and small tom is an 8x12. All parts are in excellent working order. There is some fade to the blue sparkle, as well as the "orange peel" effect common to vintage glass glitter wraps. Batter side bass drum hoop has obviously been cracked and reglued at some point where the swivo-matic pedal clamp was tightened down - see pics. Pictures showing Russ were taken from Russ' own copy of the Rogers catalog.
Included will be the hard to find Swivo-matic bass drum mounted cymbal L-arm, as well as the 1960's Rogers snare drum stand.
