1953 Gibson Acoustic Southern Jumbo Flattop Guitar / Ser# Y5083 8 w/ Case Natural Finish
This listing features a very nice 1953 Gibson Southern Jumbo (SJ) Flat Top (Flattop) Acoustic Guitar for you. It comes to you in a nice generic, unmarked case – all clasps and handle intact. It does show quite a bit of wear and tear and has all kinds of stickers all over it - but it's a hard body case and has protected the guitar nicely.
The 1953 Gibson Southern Jumbo Acoustic Flat Top (Flattop) guitar is still in terrific condition for you. Appears to be a natural finish. Original serial number or factory order number is Y5083 8 - showing on the neck block inside. Neck appears to be straight. There are a few light scattered scratches here and there and there are some small areas where the finish shows some light wear - but no cracks or breaks in the body or neck. We've tried to add alot of photos so that you can judge condition for yourself. Definately a terrific piece of the past. Extremely nice example. Still an extremely nice display.
Please note that this is a consignment piece and we to not have any information on the history of this guitar. Based on that, we have no way to know if parts or finish are original or not. We will do our best to describe the item as accurately as possible but make no claims as to originality of parts or finish. As a result – we are not stating or assuming anything, including finish, to be original – though certainly in some cases it may be. Please be advised that in order to maintain the integrity of the piece, we do not disassemble consignment guitars to confirm originality of parts. Please bid accordingly and understand that we do honor returns on items if they are not as described - but remember that our description on this piece DOES NOT include any statement regarding the originality of either parts or finish.
Be sure to checkout the photos and captions for additional detail and information. Will make a terrific addition to your personal collection.
