Vintage Gibson LG-1 Guitar NO RESERVE
Up for bids is an old Gibson LG-1 from 1965 or so (serial # 282244). It's finished in tobacco sunburst and it's in decent shape for its age. The finish shows a good amount of weather checking plus the small nicks and dings you might expect on a 40+ year old guitar. There is playing wear around the soundhole and on the upper treble side front. I don't see any cracks or damage, though there is a small place where the paint is touched up on the lower treble side of the top (see photos). The bridge appears to be a Gibson style part, but I think it has either been reglued or replaced. There is also a slight gap between the back side of the bridge and the top, just big enough to slide a sheet of paper in about 1/4 of an inch. Under full string tension the top behind the bridge bulges upward a little bit but it's not horrible. The neck appears to be straight when you sight down it but the action gets a bit higher than I like as the strings near the body. It plays fine up to about the 9th fret, but after that it's a little stiff and high, so that may need attention at some point. It actually plays and sounds pretty good in the lower positions (where I usually play) so I've never bothered with getting it fixed. The frets show a little wear but not enough to cause any buzzing or problems. It comes in the old chipboard case you see in the photos. Look it over and see if this is something you can use. Due to the issues I mention I'm offering it AS DESCRIBED and with NO RESERVE.
I can accept money orders and Paypal payments. U.S. shipping and insurance will be $35 (more to Alaska and Hawaii). International Priority Mail postage and insurance to Canada will be $55.
International bids are welcome, but please email for a shipping quote before bidding. Shipping prices will vary by destination, but International Priority Mail shipping with insurance is generally around $80-$110 for Japan, Europe and the U.K. The post office has size limits on packages going to some countries (including Australia), so I will not be able to ship the guitar to those countries.
