Early Taylor 12 string guitar Well used, sounds good, stays in tune. Model 550 Purchased about 1983. Label is in interior under the fretboard-see picture. I took off the truss rod cover to photo the double truss rod(takes a 5/16ths socket). Cover is included. Truss rod works. Lots of nicks and checking front and back(some show up in the pictures). Finish chipped off around part of the post hole top left on headstalk - see picture 4. Some neck relief in standard tuning: Action OK up to 6th, 7th fret. High after that(picture 6): top around sound may have sunk slightly over the years.(picture 7) Could tune it to Eb as is done with many 12's or if you want low action all the way up the neck maybe get a pro to look at it . Nice non original HSC with one out of 4 latches needing repair(bottom one). No Reserve Local pickup OK
On 02-Dec-08 at 18:34:54 EST, seller added the following information:I received an extensive question about this guitar and forgot to check the box that would have made the answer visible to all so here it is. I am selling this guitar for the original owner, a friend of mine with no
experience on ebay. No original paperwork, Only Checking that I can see and no
repairs. I had it examined by a repair guy before I put it on sale. He said the
neck was not the problem, but fret board is lower than the bridge which indicates
the top has sagged somewhat over the years. Not been humidified as a guitar
collector might, just in a smoke free home environment. Approx shipping and
handling to NY state $60 US, California, Florida $85
also I noticed some fretwear but no buzzes and finger marks on the fretboard in the first 7 frets indicating that the guitar has been loved and well used as I mentioned in the original description.
