Here we have an old cittern for sale.
.. made by Bohm, Hamburg, founded 1898.
A Waldzither is 9-string 5 course cittern.
Traditional german tuning C-major (open C), tuned C GG cc ee gg, low to high, but many people use their own tuning on the waldzither.
A waldzither is highly recommended, if a bouzouki scale is too large for your hands.
Famous Andy Irvine plays the waldzither.
Typically for this original Bohm Waldzither are the Preston Tuners and its bridge from glas.
The Waldzither was made from all solid woods. The back of the neck is originally black stained.
The strings are new, the neck is straight.
Due to its age there are several tiny dings and dongs in varnish.
The tuners work well. A tuning tool comes with the waldzither.
Sounding is very brilliant, metal like!
