Celery Top Pine- (so called due to the leaves resembling those of celery) is a rare wood outside Australia. Very slow growing it is one of the worlds hardest non-pored (Softwood) woods. Extremely durable and very stable too.
-
Lacking resonance in the lower spectrum due to the high density. This wood will suit a 'plug in' acoustic (Stage/live work) type guitar for two reasons-
-
It can take a hammering due to its hardness
-
The lower frequencies will be cramped so less feedback.
Bonus- it looks a lot like spruce and ages to a mellow golden color.
Old, dry seasoned over 10yrs
SIZE: given -see pix
DEFECTS- nasty crack falls outide pattern for most-see pix. A small amount of knot shaddow - but otherwise perfect.
Sawn dead on the quarter- thickness sanded @4mm
