Seagull S12+ S Series 12 String Acoustic Guitar - Natural Finish (not high gloss)
Guitar
is in Very Good condition! A few minor scratches on the top (see
photos) from playing. The frets have very minimal wear! Auction
includes a soft gigbag-type case!
Awesome sounding guitar with great action for a 12-string. Would be good for a fingerstyle player.
The
tapered headstock on the S12+ provides a straighter pull on the strings
over the nut for exceptionally easy and stable tuning-a very good thing
when you have 12 strings to deal with. Crisp highs and warm mids are
generated by a solid cedar top on environmentally friendly wild cherry
back and sides. Silver leaf maple neck with rosewood fretboard provides low, easy action.
Seagull S12+ 12-String Acoustic Guitar Features:
* Solid cedar top
* Wild cherry back and sides
* Silver leaf maple neck
* Rosewood fretboard
* Tusq nut and compensated saddle
* Semi-gloss lacquer finish
Guitar has a sound that lands somewhere between the mellow tone of a Mahogany guitar and the bright sound of Maple. Wild Cherry
has proven itself to be an excellent tone wood. Grown locally in Canada
where this guitar is made, Wild Cherry is also an ecologically friendly
choice... GO GREEN!
Guitar is in great shape! There are a few light scratches on the top from regular playing (I include a photo of the ones close to the pick guard). The top is solid Cedar, which is soft yet an EXCELLENT tone wood.

On Dec-05-08 at 08:23:00 PST, seller added the following information:Based on the following information and the 8-digit serial number beginning with "03", I assume this guitar was made during the 2003 production year.
------------------------------------------
The
Seagull 8-digit serial number system denotes the year, week, day of the
week, and number of units made that week. Their production year begins
on August 1 and ends on the following July 31.
- The first 2 digits: production year
- 3rd and 4th digits: production week
- 5th digit: production day (ex: 1 = Monday, 2 = Tuesday... etc...)
- Last 3 digits: number of guitar built during that production week
Thus, a guitar with a 05023217 serial number, was built the 2nd
week of August 2004 (05 02), on a Wednesday (3), and was the 217th
guitar built during that production week (217).
This is true for all Seagull & Godin guitar models. They began
using this system in 1993-1994. Models from the 90's have a 7-digit
serial number (not 8, with the 1st digit indicating the production
year).
