We are offering a very fine hand-made Collings orchestra model acoustic guitar in this auction. The OM2H guitar features East Indian Rosewood back and sides and a Select Spruce top with herringbone inlay. This is one of the finest acoustic guitars available on the market today and this particular instrument is in near-mint condition. We will fully describe the guitar and any issues, but we ask that you be sure to view all the pictures below carefully before bidding or asking questions. The pictures are as much a part of the description as are the words written here. Please note: We have not listed a buy-it-now price and will not be ending the auction early, nor are we interested in trades. Please do not email with requests for either as we will not respond.
We always start with the negative issues (a very short list on this guitar!), so here they are. You will note the picture of the right side of the soundhole (with the tip of the pickguard showing). There is a very small finish mar visible on the edge of the soundhole. This has been touched up and would probably not be visible to most people, even on close inspection, but we want to describe every issue we note. Also, when the guitar is held just right in the light, you can see that there are some pick marks on the pickguard, but these are light and of course, to be expected. Other than these two very minor issues, we can't find anything to fault about the instrument at all.
As most readers are no doubt aware, this guitar is very popular with fingerpickers, well known for its full tone and great projection. This one was ordered with the wider neck spacing (1 3/4" at the nut), so it is even better for picking. The action is flawless, close and easy to fret, and just begs to be played. As for the tone, the lows are full and warm and the highs are bright and clear. You won't find a better sounding instrument anywhere for the price that we are aware of. They say that these guitars take a few years to achieve their full "opened up" tone, but this one is well on the way and can only get better!
The pictures don't do justice to the beautiful, dark East Indian Rosewood of the back and sides, but you can be assured that the color and grain are incredible. The spruce top has a nice, straight grain and just resonates when played! We see no sign of structural difficulty and absolutely no sign that this guitar has been abused or even played hard.
We're not going to list all the features of this fine guitar, but if you want the specifics, go to the Collings website at www.collingsguitars.com and click on the "OM" option. All of the materials and workmanship that go into these great hand-made beauties is top quality.
We are offering this fine, top-of-the-heap guitar in this auction with NO RESERVE, so some lucky bidder is going to walk away from the auction with an incredible instrument under his or her arm and a great, big smile on their face! Why not you? You can't win if you don't bid, so bid early and hang in there! We don't think you'll find a better instrument for the money out there!
Comes in the original Collings (by TKL) hardcase pictured. The case is just about as flawless as the guitar, with very little in the way of nicks or marks on it. The high bidder will pay for UPS Ground shipping and full insurance in the continental United States. We require an adult signature for delivery. (We don't want this fine instrument sitting on someone's front porch in the rain. Bet you don't either!) Payment options include money order, cashier's check, and PayPal. We are also happy to accept direct credit card payments by phone using our toll free line. We accept MC/Visa/AmEx/Discover.
PLEASE READ...Bidders with excessive negative feedback and new bidders with no feedback at all (a zero beside your Ebay ID) must contact us before entering a bid. If you do not, your bid will be cancelled and you will be blocked from further participation in this auction. FOREIGN BUYERS...You may not participate in this auction. We will not ship this item outside the United States (the last time we checked, Canada was not part of the United States). NO EXCEPTIONS! We will not answer emails requesting foreign shipping, so please don't even ask. This is not about disliking foreigners, but is due entirely to the problems of dealing with insurance claims on foreign shipments, requests for falsified customs documents, and time issues.
We do not make "Second-Chance-Offers" for any of our auctions. If you receive one after the end of this auction, it is a sham. Do not respond to us, but immediately report the message to Ebay. There are lots of nasty scammers out there waiting to take your money. Don't you be their next victim!
