1988 was a very important year in Fender's history. Fender introduced their very first signature models the Yngwie Malmsteen & Eric Clapton Stratocasters, Yes the fact is Yngwie along with Eric were the first to be honored, before Jeff Beck, Steve Ray Vaughn, etc. What I have here is not only one of the first YJM Signature models, but one of the Fender's first signature models at all. Unlike today, the early YJM Stratocasters were custom made based on received orders. Fender's best craftsmen were involved in making of this model. I’m giving you the unique opportunity to own this YJM Stratocaster, built by legendary HERBIE GASTELUM himself. He has been with Fender since the Pre-CBS years. These days he is senior master builder at the Fender’s Custom Shop. This signature model is far better than the current YJM's Stratocasters which are, CNC factory mass produced. The gitar is 20 years old and it has a official vintage status. Its value is also increased by the fact that the instrument comes from the era of the Fender’s renaissance. In 82 CBS had almost completely destroyed Fender’s reputation by bringing the quality to its all time low. In 1984 one great man - Bill Schultz, is going to purchase the Fender Company from CBS. Schultz’s idea was to bring Fender’s glory back. He set super high quality control standards. That’s why that era is considered as the Fender’s renaissance, also known as the rebirth of Fender. This guitar was one of the few things signed by Yngwie on October, 13 2008. That day was very important for him and his fans - his induction to the Guitar Center's "rock walk".
