Epiphone Elitist Riviera XII/12 string, Made in Japan, circa 2005, S/N T5042xx. According to the serial number, the guitar is Terada made (according to Wikipedia, Terada also makes Japanese made Gretsch reissues as well), semi-hollow body construction with center block (very much like a Gibson ES-335 or ES-335/12). This particular model is no longer in production, at least not in the Elitist Japan model range.
Special note: this guitar is NOT a 'Second' or a marked 'Used' model. The serial number is intact on both the headstock imprint and the interior paper label (see photos). ALL parts are original as far as I know, nothing has been changed or substituted by me. I had to search long and hard to find one of these guitars that was NOT a 'Second'/'Used' model. It comes with the original hangtag, owners manual, unfilled warranty card, truss rod wrench, case keys (see photo of the case candy), and original purple plush lined Epiphone Elitist case. Even the plastic wrap is still on the (leather?) case handle, see photo!
Specifications of the guitar are as follows:
Solid Mahogany neck (set neck construction) with semi-hollowbody Maple body, center block construction, transparent cherry finish.
1 11/16" nut width, bone nut. Original style W/B/W Epiphone pickguard with raised 'E' emblem.
Abalone headstock inlays, pearl (or pearloid) trapezoid fretboard inlays, Grover tuners.
Single ply fretboard and body (back and front) binding. Frets appear to me to be medium jumbo in size.
Two volume control, two tone controls (with 'vintage' pointer washers), one three way pickup selector toggle switch.
Gibson USA made mini-humbucker pickups.
Trapeze tailpiece with ABR-1 style adjustable bridge.
Original hangtag, owners manual, unfilled warranty card, truss rod wrench, and case keys included. Original purple plush-lined Epiphone elitist case.
Guitar is in excellent shape, has little fret wear, plays well to me with no buzzing that I can tell, action is medium-low to me, guitar has slight pick scratches to the pickguard, very few signs of handling to the guitar, worst is one small ding to the top of the headstock (see photo). One of the volume knobs will not grip well and keeps falling off (see photo) but volume control turns fine, even with the knob on, re-tensioning the split shaft volume control or purchasing a new knob should correct this. There is nothing wrong with the volume control itself that I can find. All controls and pickups work smoothly and quietly to me, with no crackling or buzz that I can detect. Weight is approximately 9 lbs. Check out www.harmony-central.com to find reviews for this guitar.
I purchased this guitar for my own use several months ago, I am selling this guitar as I have too many, I am cleaning out my closets and it does not get played often enough, so therefore it must go. Again, please ask all questions before bidding. Thanks for looking, and please check out my other auctions!
