Up for auction is a Yamaha 62 Professional Alto Sax Saxophone. This body of this instrument is in great shape! There are no worn lacquer spots and only fine scratching consistent with light use. There is one very small ding in the bell about the length of a thumbnail, but I doubt it will show up in photos. This is an earlier 62. The serial number is 91,xxx.
The neck was bent and twisted when we received the instrument. Our brass repair specialist spent a good deal of time straightening the neck and now you can barely tell that there was an issue at all. (See the photos of both sides of the neck!) I have played this instrument and haven’t found any issues due to this repair and the intonation is fine for me.
The pads are most likely original and are in good shape for their age. The instrument plays as is, but would probably benefit from a full or partial repad. There are some leaks and the low end definitely needs some adjustment.
Comes with the original case, keys, sax strap and a Yamaha 4C mouthpiece, cap and ligature.
