Vintage 1940's KAY PARLOR GUITAR
Up for auction is a neat vintage 1940's Kay small parlor acoustic guitar. Guitar will need a little work to bring it back to playability. Looks like all solid mahogany but I am unsure of the wood.
The bridge is loose and will need to be reglued. It is missing the bridge pins, back strap pin and logo. The tuners look to be early Klusons but the buttons have worn away so it will need new buttons. The nut is loose and will need to be glued.
Neck itself is straight but the neck joint is a little loose and the angle is a little low so a re-set may be needed. Frets have little play wear with plenty of life, they just need some cleaning.
Body has finish crazing throughout but there are no cracks or splits. Body has top, back and sound hole binding and also has the original pick guard.
Length is 34 1/2", lower bout 11", upper bout 8", depth 3 1/4", width at nut 1 3/4" and scale length is 21 3/4".
Overall a neat little parlor project for your collection or everyday use.
