Recently came across a number of original Ampico rolls in very good to excellent condition. Excellent meaning that the edges are clean and straight with no feathering. All have boxes, most in good condition, some needing repair. All have intact labels but some are discolored. All but the largest ones played perfectly on the 1938 Fischer spinet up for auction elsewhere on E-Bay.<p>
Up for auction is Ampico 100785, a jumbo roll compilation, "Standard Fox Trot Medley #1" (see photo for titles). Right hand brown bakelite spool end has been shaved down, left hand spool end is intact. By removing the left spool end the windings look good except for what looks like a small tear about 1/8" into the windings. The right spool end is tight so can not inspect the windings. It will not fit on the spinet so am unable to play it thru. Box is complete but shows some wear on the edges.<p<
