Vintage Silver Buescher True Tone Alto Sax - SN 227972

This is a great late vintage Buescher True Tone alto sax, serial number 227972. This alto is in beautiful original silver plate, with just light playing wear. These later vintage True Tones are the ones to keep your eye out for. They generally have better intonation and keywork. This one is a real good one.

There are a few minor pings but no major dents. The only resolder work is on the low Eb key guard, which is not original. The neck is original and in excellent condition. Pads are all in great shape, in fact most are new. Fortunately, all of the original metal snap-in resonators were retained. The horn could use some regulation to really get into top playing condition.

A little bit of work and this alto will be a great player. These vintage True Tones have a real sweet sound, definitely on the warmer / darker side but with good response and they are very free and easy blowing. It does ship in a good case.
